Why these items #
This list is mostly focused on the H2D. There are some parts that if they break for one nozzle, the entire printer is unusable. Having spares for those parts is a good idea.
The H series toolhead/extruder is extremely complex, too. Some of these parts are here because they’re somewhat likely to get damaged during blobs or other common problems.
Some of these are here because they’ve shown up as common replacements in #h2-series on the Bambu Discord.
The Spares List #
(links are to H2D spares, be sure to get the H2S version of the part if you have an H2S)
- left and right hotend heating assemblies - If one breaks, both are down. These are common victims of blobs, especially the left one.
- left and right eddy sensors - if one breaks, both are down (I think?). These are less-common victims of blobs. The flat cable on these is prone to break if you have to do toolhead surgery.
- flow blockers - These get bent pretty easily. They’ll scratch your build plate if you’re not careful.
- nozzle wiping pads - These get yeeted across my chamber all the time.
- filament cutters - These can break if you have to do toolhead surgery, and they’re consumables.
- Extruder idlers and Filament Sensor - If the filament sensor is down, both sides are down. The PTFE ‘grabber’ at the top for one input has broken for someone in Discord, making that side unusable.
- Silcone Nozzle Socks - There’s a really fragile part near the nozzle that tears easily.
That’s about $125 in spares for the H2D, but that’s a good (to me) investment in keeping my printer running if these parts fail. There are definitely other parts you might consider having spares for, too.
